Privacy Policy

CloudEx Inc. ("we", "us", or "our") operates the "Video Maker Pro" app (the "Service"), a tool for creating slideshows and edited videos from the photos, videos, and music on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you. By using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Our Core Principle

Video Maker Pro is a video creation app. All editing — trimming, arranging photos and clips, applying themes, transitions, filters, text, and music, and exporting the finished video — is performed entirely on your device. Your photos, videos, music, and the videos you create are never uploaded to our servers and are never sent to us or to any third party. Specifically, we do not record, store, or transmit any of the following:

  • The photos, videos, or audio files you select or edit
  • The videos you produce with the app
  • The contents of your media library or the personal information within it (faces, locations, etc.)

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information Collected Automatically

  • Anonymous crash reports: Via Firebase Crashlytics. When the app crashes, we collect the stack trace, device model, OS version, and app version. This does not include personally identifiable information, your media, or the contents of your screen.
  • App usage statistics: Via Google Analytics for Firebase. We collect anonymous app usage events (such as the app being opened or a video being exported) together with device information and the device's advertising ID (AAID). We use this data to understand aggregate app usage and to measure the effectiveness of our own advertising campaigns (counting app installs that resulted from an ad). It is never used to display ads in the app.
  • Purchase / license information: When you make an in-app purchase, we use purchase tokens issued by Google Play to verify it. We never receive any payment information such as credit card numbers.

2.2 Information Stored Only on Your Device

  • Your media and projects: The photos, videos, and music you add, along with your in-progress projects, are handled only on your device.
  • Exported videos: Finished videos are saved to your device's storage (e.g., your gallery). We have no access to them.
  • App settings: Your preferences (selected theme, music, effects, output resolution, and the like) are stored only on your device. They are erased when you uninstall the app or clear the app's data.

2.3 Information We Explicitly Do Not Collect

  • The contents of the photos, videos, or audio you select or create
  • Location information such as GPS coordinates
  • Your contacts, calendar, phone number, or messages
  • Live capture from your camera or microphone

2.4 Permissions the App Requests and Their Purposes

Creating videos requires several OS permissions. Video Maker Pro uses them only for the stated purposes:

  • Photos and videos / Music and audio (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, READ_MEDIA_AUDIO; or storage access on older Android) — Used only so you can pick the photos, video clips, and music you want to include, and so the finished video can be saved to your device. Access happens on your device; your media is not uploaded.
  • Internet and network state (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE) — Used to download optional content you choose (such as additional themes and online music), to check connectivity, and to send the anonymous crash and analytics data described above.
  • Foreground service and wake lock (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, WAKE_LOCK) — Used to keep video export/encoding running reliably and to keep the device awake while a video is being processed.
  • Notifications (Android 13+) — Used to show export progress and, in the free version, occasional reminders. You can decline or turn these off at any time.

3. How We Use Information

The limited information we collect is used only for the following purposes:

  • Operating and maintaining the Service
  • Verifying purchases
  • Understanding aggregate app usage and improving the app (analytics)
  • Measuring the effectiveness of our own advertising campaigns (install conversion measurement)
  • Diagnosing and fixing crashes
  • Responding to support inquiries
  • Complying with applicable laws

4. Third-Party Services

Video Maker Pro uses the following third-party services. Each service has its own privacy policy.

  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) — anonymous crash diagnostic data
  • Google Analytics for Firebase (Google LLC) — anonymous app usage statistics and measurement of our own ad campaigns (install conversions)
  • Google Play Billing — payments are completed on the store platform side
  • Content delivery servers — when you choose to download optional themes or online music, those files are fetched from our hosting providers; as with any download, your IP address is visible to the host for the duration of the request. No account or personal data is required.

Video Maker Pro does not display ads within the app and does not share your data with advertising networks in order to show you ads.

5. Data Retention

  • Crash reports: retained for 90 days, then deleted.
  • Analytics data: retained by Google Analytics for up to 14 months, then deleted.
  • Support emails: retained for 12 months after the last reply, then deleted (except where legally required).
  • Your media, projects, exported videos, and settings on your device: erased when you uninstall the app or clear the app's data.

6. International Data Transfers

We are based in Japan. The infrastructure used for crash diagnostics and analytics may be located in various countries. When you use the Service, the minimal information described above may be processed outside your country of residence under standard contractual safeguards.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you reside (e.g., the EEA, UK, California, Japan), you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the limited information we hold. You can:

  • Reset or delete your device's advertising ID in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads)
  • Uninstall the app or clear the app's data to erase your projects and settings on your device
  • Contact us at the address below to make a request regarding the information we hold

8. Children's Privacy

Video Maker Pro is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age applicable in your region). If we inadvertently collect information from such a child, we will delete it promptly upon being contacted.

9. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The latest version is always published at this URL together with its effective date. We will also notify you within the app of significant changes as appropriate.
